Posting this on MY site and syndicating it to Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn. Hoorah

Posting this via Quill - https://quill.p3k.io - using Indieauth and Micropub.

Thanks to Ben Werdmuller who explained that I had to use www.leoville.net not leoville.net as the endpoint.

Want to send me an encrypted file? Here’s my miniLock public key: yRF4ZRBFr6QZkwPPB6D13oEvj5tJzpaA9WEjyXQCUi3hA (learn more at http://minilock.io) It's Steve Gibson approved!

Off to Vegas to celebrate Lisa's sister Debi's birthday. Back in time for The Tech Guy on Sunday.

So far I am loving the new Chromebook Pixel. No compromise i/o: keyboard, trackpad, and screen, noticeably zippy, 12-hour battery life.

Hey Known - what happened to the text editing toolbar in the Post windows?

Answer: nothing. I turned on the Markdown plug-in. D'oh!

Deleted Twitter and Facebook from all my mobile devices and it feels so good! I just don't need the drama.

Excellent, if tragic, article by Kathy Sierra:

We're live! Thanks to Mike 'bear' Taylor for helping me configure this instance!

I've got two projects for my day off tomorrow: setup Known on my server and make a lasagna from scratch. Might bake some bread, too.

Oh, and one more thing. Around 12:01am I guess I'll try to buy an iPhone 6+.

Ben and Erin on live right now talking about Known on http://live.twit.tv

Inside Apple’s Live Event Stream Failure, And Why It Happened: It Wasn’t A Capacity Issue http://blog.streamingmedia.com/2014/09/why-apples-livestream-failed.html

It's true that Apple's live stream of the Phone 6 reveal was a mess, but I'm not sure I agree it's due to the way the Live page was coded. Worth a read for one man's (informed) theory, though.

Next time, Apple, hire someone who knows what they're doing. Maybe the very competent folks who manage the iTunes Festival. Those streams are amazing!

Tenet #1 of the Indie Web: you need to host your own stuff. And so I am now withknown! http://leoville.withknown.com/ (Tune in TWiG on Wednesday to meet Ben and Erin, the folks behind Withknown.)
